X ray results and today

The X rays Caroline had today was to see if the "re-plumbing" inside went well and there were no leaks. It continues to be good news, no leaks were detected, which means that Caroline can drink water for the first time in over a week!!! Hopefully this will restore her voice.

She does look well, but suffers from indigestion and heartburn. The consultant told her that this was a common reaction to the liquid food she is taking via a drip. She has restarted taking the liquid food today at 10mls per hour!!

She is no longer on morphine, but she is now experiencing some pain. I suppose this is what happens when pain management is altered!!! The staff are very attentive and caring and are able to supplement her pain relief.

Today more tubes were taken out and tomorrow they will remove the catheter and a wound drain. The only drip she will have will be for food. This means that her chances of being mobile have increased dramatically and I an sure she will try to get up and about. This will help her indigestion big time!

The family
Nathan had to be picked up at school today. He has some cold sores and was feeling rundown as they ran out of food he could eat at school (I am not happy!!). Bethany remains in good spirits and Bessie is getting better.
