Today Caroline saw the Surgeon Mr. Botha and Claire, our cancer nurse, they were both extremely happy about Caroline's progress. Mr. Botha has recommended that Caroline can now take soft food and drink tea. So she is now on yogurt, soup, jelly, mousse, tea and water. It is still very small quantities.
The physiotherapist also came and Caroline walked around the ward on her own!! They checked her oxygen levels in her blood and were happy. These things have really boasted Caroline's morale, she now feels that she has more control on her recovery. She looks really good. Hopefully Caroline's mobility will help her internal organs to get back to shape and also help with the indigestion. (she still gets heartburn), but she does get tired very quickly.
Her pain management was a bit dodgy last night, the staff were a bit confused about the regime. However the pain relief nurses sorted out the confusion and all should be well.
The catheter will be removed tomorrow and they are thinking of removing Caroline's food drip soon.
The Family
Bessie is a lot better as is Nathan. Arthur had a bit of a rough night, but is recovering. It was good spending a bit time with the children after the hectic weekend.
