The family @ home

Bessie (Caroline's mum) is not feeling well today and looks like she is coming down with a cold. Please pray for a quick recovery and that Arthur will be able to manage the family. (He's doing alright at this moment)

Nathan was a bit upset at seeing mum all tubed up yesterday, we have decided that they both Nathan and Berthany won't see mummy today (the logistics are impossible), but they will see mummy on Friday and Saturday, (possibly Sunday too). Give thanks to good friends who are looking out for them.

I am off to Sheffield this evening and the weather forecast is for wintry showers and snow. This does not make for ideal traveling conditions. I'd appreciate prayer for journeys that not only I but others will take. In particular that the roads would be gritted, ice free and filled with drivers who are taking care (Miracles do happen).

I am at peace over Caroline and the care she is recieving at the hospital, just a bit anxious about being away from the family this weekend. This weekend is a crucial time for people who have applied for Church Army ministry and are having that call tested. They will undergo a series of interviews, group activities & written papers. My responsibility this weekend is to be the conference secretary and to ensure that both candidates and selectors are content and happy in what is happening. A lot of the groundwork has been done well in advance - just need to be confident that all the groundwork is secure and fine.

I might be able to talk to Caroline over the phone, but I also need to have mental and emotional space to function well for others at this time. There is a lot riding on this weekend for all the candidates. Please remember them and the selectors in your prayers. The names of the candidates are:

Elsie, John, Nicky, Kate, Maureen, Peter, Lynne & Jeff.

Thanks
