Caroline continues to do well. Last night her blood pressure went quite low and her pain management needed to be improved (which is what happened). This was a cause of concern, but not a major one.
Today she got out of bed and sat in a chair. The medical team have reviewed and made changes to her pain management and have now introduced a nutritional drip (instead of water). They are very keen for her to get moving about this aids the healing process.
She is still tender and gets tired (which is normal after a operation). She remains positive.
On Monday she will be having an X ray to see if the internal stitching is all OK and there are no leaks. If this goes well then she will gradually be taking in liquids through her mouth and will have the lung drain removed. She is so looking forward to a drink.
This coming Wednesday we will get the results of the post mortem on the stomach and lymph nodes. This will tell us what stage the cancer was, how big the tumour was and the next steps for treatment.
The children have seen Caroline tonight and that went well, but Caroline was very tired. Nathan and Bethany continue to do well at school. I went to their teacher-parent consultations and Nathan is gifted and talented in Maths and Literacy, getting top marks. We are very proud of both them and they are coping well with mum being away
I will be away this weekend in Sheffield for the Selection conference. This will be a full on weekend and so I will not have much chance to give anymore updates until Sunday or Monday.
In the meantime continue to pray - IT IS WORKING wonders for us.
