The wanderer returns

Well I managed to get back from my 570 mile trip around North Yorkshire and Sheffield, in an unfamiliar car (more later) with a cold. Overall it was a good trip, managed to meet some old friends and see the people I needed too. (Although I would not recommend the cafe at Tesco Thirsk for its food!!)

The vocation weekend went really well despite the fact that I started with almost non-stop sneezing, which then moved to body chills and headaches. However this did not stop the weekend from being a success for those who came. My prayer is that it will enable people to clarify their own sense of vocation.

The journey back was smooth and hassle free and here comes a brief review of the Vauxhall Vectra SRi 1800cc Estate. Why does vauxhall have to spoil what is a great cruising car with oddles of space by putting in the most uncomfortable seats. The seats had vertical and horizontal adjustments, it even had adjustable thigh supports and lumbar support, but could I get comfortable NO!! Of course it could be me (it usually is!!). The car is returned tomorrow and I await the return of my old non-glitzy Citroen Estate. It may have its faults, but at least I can do 700 miles in it without feeling that my back has been punished by the Spanish inquisition or jumped on by herd of elephants. Rant finished.

Got back exhausted on Sunday evening. On the following day I stayed in bed recovering and I still feel tired. I think that the last couple of weeks have had their toll on me & the cold is God's way of getting me to slow down, and so taking the hint, I am taking the rest of this week off to recover. (Lemsips, Daytime TV and reading the "da Vinci Code" (thank Jo).

Caroline (to be edited by the good lady herself when she reads this!!)
She is still struggling with eating. At this time she is constipated and feels like there is no more space for food!! Pray that the input and output flow will harmonise. She feels like she has lost weight, but then this was what we could expect. The good news is that her stamina is building up and she is managing to take longer walks around the park.

Arthur returned safely today back to Worcester and Bessie is still helping us out. Tomorrow the kids will have the joy of two grandmothers in the same building, (I sense a calling to feign a relapse and stay in the safest place on earth - under the duvet!)

Thanks for all your prayers for the weekend, even though I struggled physically and mentally, I still felt OK and positive.
