Yesterday was a good day for Caroline. Reflux and nausea minimal, as other parts of her digestion. Today not so good, reflux is up and she is spending more time on the toilet. These are the ups and downs of having a missing organ.
Caroline is still on dietary supplements as well as small portions of food. She has a smoothie which is double the calories of even the fattest smoothie you can imagine!! She still gets tired, but still content with being home.
These are the ups and downs of learning to live without a stomach. Over to Caroline now...
Hi everyone, it is really good to be home and thanks to for all the amazing support through prayer and practicalities over the last few weeks, we couldn't have got through without it. As I said it is lovely being with the family although even walking upstairs exhausts me and I spend a lot of my time in bed resting. Food is a constant battle at the moment, some days I win and some days my digestive system wins, but I'm trying not to let it get me down and I'm certainly able to eat more than when I was on hospital food, you can not imagine how bad it was!!
Nathan and Bethany were very happy when I came home and are being very caring and gentle with me, they have been complete stars right the way through this and I am so proud of them and the way they have coped. Ray has also been amazing keeping everything together, being house husband, mother and father and holding down a full time job, I fell he must be absolutely exhausted by now but still manages to smile! I've been very greatly blessed with my family and for that I am truly thankful.
For those expecting to see me in church tomorrow, sorry to disappoint but I can't manage that yet, but hope to see you all soon, signing out , Caroline
