Caroline discovered something important. She does not like hospital food, it looks, tastes and smells unappetising and it does not agree with her. The soups are made from powdered mix, the mashed potato is instant and she even got a lo-fat yogurt (when she should be on high fat). As a consequence she is getting homemade soup. The quantities are small, ( a small cup) but the ingredients fresh and I make them (with her direction). The dietician is aware of this and so far its cool.
Today she managed to have one bottle of Fortisip (a nutritional, bulk up milk shake) and some cheese omelette (well she eat the cheese - the omelette was rubber). So she had about 400 calories today and even though she still felt nausea and reflux - she looked a lot better off hospital food!!!.
I have made her a fresh Carrot and Butter soup, which she will get tomorrow. I know that there will be those in London who will want to give her soups and things, but it would be helpful if you could restrain your kindness for the moment.
