Laproscopy results and date of op!!

The Laproscopy went well and Caroline's first experience of General anesthetic, went as well as expected. She is now even more holier!! With two new holes in her tummy!!

It is still all good news. The outside lining of the stomach all looks normal, which means that the cancer has not spread to the muscle wall. She does not need to undergo pre-operative chemotherapy. The original positive prognosis still stands and this continues to give us hope and peace.

The only fly in the ointment was the date of the operation to remove Caroline's stomach. The operation is on the 20th Feb and she needs to go to hospital on the 19th. Caroline expressed her concerns about the cancer growing to one of the doctors and he reassured her that this was a slow growing tumour whose growth is measured in months and years and not days and weeks. The cancer is in its very early stages.

Peter a doctor friend looked up the stats on Caroline's cancer and the likelihood of a person in their 40's having this cancer is 7 in 100,000!! This explains the surprise of the doctors and we are so grateful to God and our family doctor for enabling such an early diagnosis.

The delay in the date means that we can have more time with the children, especially with the half term holiday coming up.

Thank you for all your prayers and messages of support, they all mean a lot to us.
