I think the last couple of days have taken their toll and we both feel emotionally tired. We want to thank you all for your kind offers of practical help, and we will take them up when we need to do so. This will happen when Caroline is in hospital and recovering from the operation.
We are living life as normally as possible. Caroline is still going to work and they have been very kind and understanding to her. I am still trying to function normally and we are trying to keep the kids routine as normal as possible.
The only symptoms Caroline has are the weight loss (which has stabilized) and her inability to eat normal quantities of food. She does not feel ill in anyway.
The best way you can help us at this moment is to be your normal lovely selves. We do not need anyone to walk around us on egg shells or to avoid any talk of cancer. I had a chat with a friend on the phone and she said that she found conversations about serious illnesses difficult. I appreciated that honesty and it was fine.
Hopefully we will be able to talk to our cancer Nurse tomorrow about the meeting with the surgeon and the second CT scan.
